Gemma Shorts in 'Spades n Hearts' - the perfect surf shorts! The vibe of our collection 'Queen of Hearts' is inspired by the punk art era that happened in the late 70's and continued to the 80's. The era was known for combining all kinds of typography, montage and bright colours. It was the era of freedom, beauty, expressing yourself with no limits. It was the era of creative freedom and doing what ever you wanted.
These two patterns were born on a road trip six months ago, where me and my friend Esther spontaneously went on a road trip. We surfed all morning until the surf turned crap and we decided to have snacks at the beach and chill. One of the snacks Es bought us sent me to my childhood memory back in Finland and my creative juices started flowing. I visualised these patterns so clearly that I had to type them in my notes and illustrate them when I got home. And that's how they were born.
